Understand

It is important to understand your dogs. There are gestures and means of communications that dogs do. The owner must be mindful of these things to maintain communication and relationship with their dogs. Other people easily give up just because they do not understand the means of communication that the dog does to them.

Communication

Dogs actually communicate with their owner. It is important for an owner to take time to learn t understand their dogs by observing their body language, their gestures and many more. If you do not understand the communication your dog does towards you, you are like being with another person who is speaking a totally different language that you do not know of. Two way communication between you and your dog is very important. Since your dog speaks a whole different language, it is important that you both must understand each other. This way, you can strengthen your relationship.

Gestures

Dogs love to play most of the time, and this is a gesture easy to see. However, dogs are also focused on bringing their position in the higher rankings in the pack. This is one of the major concerns of the dog that you should always put in your mind. Most dogs do this activity of positioning themselves in the pack just to see if they can get away with as much things as they can. There are even other dogs that are very serious in their position in the pack to the point that they hurt other dogs that defy them. These dogs even think they are more dominant than their owner. Bigger dogs like to stand on their rear feet and stand like how their masters stand. This may be a playful gesture, but the truth is, this may also be a sign of dominance over their owners.

Control

The best way to greet your dog is by making it sit first before offering any gesture of greeting. This way, the dog will accept its subordinate position making it submit to your dominance. The dog must not feel too dominant. If the dog is focused on being the top dog, it will not listen to you anymore and it will be very undisciplined. You must assume the position of the “leader of the pack.” Your Dog will love this and your two way communication exchange will be better. This will even make your relationship stronger.

Canine Grin

The canine grin is the most common misconception among dog owners. When dogs pull their lips back like a grin, owners think that the dog is being aggressive. The truth is, the dog is happy and excited. This is not a negative gesture that should be reacted with in a bad way. This is a sign of enthusiasm and the owner must be enthusiastic as well.
